Motion Theater Workshop
An 8-week workshop with Nina Wise
8-week series
Thursdays, 7–9pm
February 5 – March 26
West End Studio Theater, 1554 4th Street, San Rafael
Motion Theater is a form of embodied autobiographical storytelling — where memory, imagination, and lived experience find expression through movement, voice, and presence. In this 8-week workshop, Nina invites you into a gentle yet powerful process of listening to the body and allowing stories to emerge without the need for scripted text.
The work unfolds in a safe, supportive, and playful space that honors curiosity, joy, and creative risk. Through improvisation, sensory exploration, gesture, and physical theater practices, participants move between solo, duet, and ensemble work, discovering how personal stories deepen through relationship and shared presence.
Motion Theater is both an art form and a spiritual practice — a way of cultivating awareness, authenticity, and connection. The process is uplifting and imaginative, grounded in respect for individual boundaries and collective care.
Participants leave feeling nourished and enlivened, carrying with them new tools for embodied storytelling, a deeper trust in their creative instincts, and a renewed sense of connection — to themselves, to others, and to the living act of performance.
Open to all.
